Verna Lynn DeVries, age 78, of Byron Center, entered her heavenly home on Monday, February 15, 2021. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ann Burgess. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Norman; children, James (Michelle) DeVries, Douglas (Luann) DeVries, Steven (Tina) DeVries; grandchildren, Courtney (Zach) Kloosterhouse, Lindsey (Mark) Riemersma, Daniel (Brittney) DeVries, Abby (Travis) Christian, Emily (Jordan) VanTil, Grace DeVries, Sam DeVries, Carlee DeVries; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine (Jim) Bolthouse, Mary (Paul) Hondorp; brother, Larry (Nancy) Burgess; and brother-in-law, Paul DeVries. The family would like to express their thanks to Verna's caregivers from Faith Hospice for the wonderful care she received.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, from 9:00 - 10:30 am at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 76th St. SW, where the memorial service will begin at 10:30 am. Rev. Daniel DeVries and Rev. Cam Townley will officiate.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or the Rush Creek Building Fund.
