Edward Alan Weske, age 56, a follower of Christ, went to be with his Lord and Savior early in the morning of Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was surrounded by the love of his life, Mona, and his children at their home in Middleville, MI. Ed was born on October 11, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois to Edward C. Weske and Patricia Ann Weber Miller. Ed attended Ft. Wayne Bible College where he studied pastoral ministry. He served several years as a youth pastor and church elder. He worked in the Christian industry most of his career life. He was most currently employed as a Community Account Representative by Comcast Corporation where he was admired and esteemed by many. He received several Excellence and MVP awards during his seven years of employment. Ed and Mona were married on December 22, 1984 in Huntington, IN. It has been 36 wonderful steadfast years, though they were cut way too short. They were the most beautiful, self-sacrificing couple that reflected the love Christ has for us to each other . . . a gift that their children and their children's children will cherish forever. Ed was a family man through and through. Time and time again, he always put others first. Ed was an avid Packers fan. He loved reading many books, his favorite being The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. He had a love for learning history and sharing it with all of us. He was a man who faithfully sought after the Lord and spent nights praying for his children as well as many others that he encountered along his path. He always was striving to walk by faith and not by sight. Ed's final battle in this life was with a rare cancer for 2 1/2 years. Through it all . . . he showed us his strength, determination, and loyalty. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Mona Jean Weske; as well as his proud children, Edward Christopher (Kristie) Weske, Rachael Lauren (Adam) Plaskey, Rebecca Grace Weske, Desi Elizabeth (Christopher) Schroeder, Isaac Lee Weske, and Travis McMillan. And, oh look at the stars in his sky, his grandchildren who lovingly call him "Papa" or "Bumpa", Lucas, Logan, Grayson, Tristan, Charlotte, Alexander, Edward Liam, Emma, and Skyler. He is also survived by his father, Edward Clarence (Chery) Weske, and mother, Patricia Ann Miller; brothers, Christopher Keith (Jeni) Weske and Lee Curtis Weske; step-sisters, Misty (Brian) Glandon and Kelly (Joe) Cripe, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Ed was welcomed by Jesus into his forever home. His passing is preceded by his grandparents, Edward Arnold and Evelyn T. Weske, William and Margaret Weber, and his mother-in-law, Betty Jean Bowman.  Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ed's life at a visitation at Ada Bible Church (2045 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI) on Monday, May 10 from 6 - 8 pm and on Tuesday, May 11 from 10 - 10:45 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Pastor Dennis Moles will officiate. A luncheon will follow. Burial will be for immediate family at Alaska Cemetery.
