Claretta was a creative and generous woman who served the Lord by serving others, beginning with loving care for her family.  For many years she was active in the Cutlerville Christian School Circle. She was also a member of the church stitchers' group, and she headed the Catering Committee at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church for a long number of years.  She loved music and served as a faithful member of the church choir for over 40 years.
