Roger DeVries, age 83, of Caledonia, MI and Palmetto, FL left his earthly body and entered his Heavenly home on Monday, September 13, 2021. Psalm 139. He was born May 8, 1938. Roger leaves behind his faithful wife of 61 years, Ruth; their children, Robin and Tom Deur, Rick and Cheryle DeVries, Renee and Kurt Hill; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bud and Elaine DeVries, Gord and Lynn DeVries; Kathy DeVries, Bob and Cathy DeLeeuw and Ron DeLeeuw; numerous loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Roger to their heavenly home are sister, Lorraine DeVries; parents, Herman and Marjorie DeVries, Lewis and Della DeLeeuw; son, Dr. Daniel J. Visser; and sister, Jeanne DeLeeuw. Roger worked for Steelcase in the Computer Center, Computer Furniture Center, and driving for Steelcase Aviation for over 40 years. He will always be remembered for his love of music, singing in churches and several choirs, and also directing Hymn Sings and playing piano and organ in Leisure Lakes Park, Palmetto, FL.  A Celebration of Roger's life will be held at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, 49503, on Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeffrey Petersen, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Third Reformed Church's music ministry or Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids. A private burial for immediate family only was held. His earthly resting place is Caledonia's Holy Corners Cemetery.
