Duane I. Tinker, age 91, of Kentwood, entered into the Glories of Heaven on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.  Duane was an employee of GM for 37 years. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children. Duane served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid bowler and golfer who always said, "I try". His greatest pride were his children and grandchildren, giving them support, encouragement, and love in all their endeavors. Duane was preceded in death by his loving wife, A. Marie Tinker; his parents, Grant and Bernice Tinker; brothers, Melbourne Marine, Gene, Jack Tinker; and sister, Arlene Armstrong. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gary (Kath) Tinker, Kris (LeRoy) Doyle, Shelley (Mark) Mol, Doug (Terri) Tinker, Penny (Ed) Graham; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren with one on the way; loving friend, Nancy Clancey; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, October 14, from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 15 at South United Methodist Church, 4500 S. Division Ave.,  with an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 am. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Sorry for the loss of your father in law. May you feel the sense of peace that there is no more sickness. May you all feel the arms of our Lord wrapped around you during this time!!

To Terri and Family,
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. It sounded like Duane was quite a guy and lived a very full life.

May he and the whole family feel a sense of peace!
