Leona Boldt Postema, age 75, of Byron Center, MI, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Leona was owner-operator of Michigan Monument for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Postema; a grandson, Walter Strickler III; and her parents, Leonard and Florence Boldt. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, James and Amy Postema (Emily, Elena, Audrey, Austin), Christopher and Aimee Leslie (Alivia and Juvan and their son, Caleb, Brandon and Katelyn and their daughter, Gracelyn), Malinda and Walter Strickler, Jr. (Dakota, Devin); her brother, Tom and Jean Boldt; as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, from 5 - 8 pm and on Friday, January 27, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids, where the funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday. The service will be officiated by Pastor Haywood Floyd. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to All Nations Church, 2230 Francis Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.

I knew Leona as a friend and fellow sister in Christ. We would pray together and shared our families together. She was a true mentor to me. I remember when she first came to church and that was the beginning of our friendship. God blessed me and my family with her. What a treasure she was to us all. However, we know the next time she opens her eyes she will see Jesus and feel the joy we can't even imagine. Leona you will be missed.❤️ Until we meet again, sister.

Although I only knew Ms. Leona for a year, she inspired me with how much she cared for others. Even at the age of 75 she still felt the calling to go out and share the gospel with others. She could have used the excuse that she's older and has done her part, but she still went out and still helped others know the love God has for them. I never told her how inspiring that was for me, I'll be forever greatful for her servant attitude towards God.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thes 4:16-18. I consider myself blessed to have known Leona. She was such an elegant, dignified woman of God. I thank and praise God that I will see her again.

I have had the pleasure of both working with Leona and also having her become a very dear friend and second mother. Know that my thoughts, prayers and love are with the entire family as we celebrate her life, grieve her loss and carry on her memory. A little piece of me has gone with her; but I know she is smiling down on us all.
