Robert William Koster, age 89, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 25, 2021.  Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Koster; daughter, Lori Joldersma; son, Jack Koster; daughter-in-law, Sue Koster.  Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Julia; children, Bob (Rhonda) Koster, Beverly (Jim) Wigger, Mike Koster; daughter-in-law, Kim (Erick) Perry; son-in-law, Randy (Jodi) Joldersma; grandchildren, Amanda (David) Helmholdt, Christy (Matt) Rozema, Ben (Joni) Koster, Ellie Koster, Hannah Whyte, John Whyte; Tim (Stacey) Wigger, Julie (Brad) De Vries, Justin (Jessica) Wigger; Brian (Katie) Koster, Keri (Jeremy) Penning, Katy (Jeremy) Vander Vennen; Matt (Courtney) Joldersma, Kellie (Jim) Bozek, Kyleigh (Josh) De Groot; 31 great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Shirley (Dave) Dornbos, Ed (Joyce) Koster, Ginny (Bill) Dykstra; sisters-in-law, Joan Koetje, Aud Kortman, Nella Kortman-Niezink, Margaret Kortman; many nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 3,  at Dutton United Reformed Church, 6950 Hanna Lake Ave. SE, with Rev. Talman Wagenmaker officiating. Guests are welcome to arrive at church after 10:30 AM to be seated for the service. For those who prefer to attend virtually, the service will be livestreamed on the church website (  Interment will follow at Dutton Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation; however, there will be a time to visit one another following the services during a luncheon at the church. In honor of Bob, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International.
