Barbara Houck, age 91, of Kentwood, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Albert Boonstra.  Barbara is lovingly remembered by her husband, of 70 years, Charles; children, Douglas A. Houck of Tacoma, Washington, Gail C. Boonstra of Belleville, Ontario, Glenda D. (Randall) Redburn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kimberly S. Houck of Wyoming, Michigan, Jeffrey S. Houck of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jill M. (Tom) Frieswyk of Traverse City, Michigan; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.  Barb was a homemaker and was privileged to raise six children.  She enjoyed playing the organ, quilting, crocheting, and painting.  She loved to play games.  She and her husband volunteered for Wedgwood Christian Services and Crossroad Ministries.  Chuck and Barb traveled the country for over 15 years volunteering with Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service (RVICS).  The visitation will be held on Sunday, May 9, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM, at Stroo Funeral Home.  The service will be held at Stroo Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 10 at 11 AM, with Rev. Lew VanderMeer officiating.  Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park.  In honor of Barbara, memorial contributions may be made to World Renew or Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service (RVICS).

I am going to miss this beautiful lady that always had something good to say about everyone. Barb could play the organ and praise God thru her music on the keyboard like no other. Barb was amazing. We are ALL going to miss her.
