Donald Joseph Surian, age 69, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. Don was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 2, 1952 to Frank and Elaine Surian. He worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring. In retirement, Don worked part time for the Gerald R. Ford International  Airport for 10 years. He loved his family and especially treasured his time with his grandchildren. An avid sports fan, Don loved watching University of Michigan sports. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Surian. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Jan; his children, Brian (Jerry) Surian, Jason (Brad) Surian, Melissa (Kyle) DeHorn, Kevin Surian; five grandchildren, Madisyn, Kaden, Peyton, Raya, and Roman; his brother and sisters, Bill Surian, Kimberlee (Matt) Sujkowski, Barbara (Kevin) Luczak; sister-in-law, Sheila Surian; his brothers-in-law, Dick (Rhea) Lumsden, Larry (Bernie) Lumsden, Bob (Bev) Lumsden, Lanny Lumsden; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, from 5 - 8 PM and on Saturday, June 12, from 10 - 11 AM at Stroo Funeral Home, where the funeral service will begin at 11 AM Saturday. Rev. Fr. Peter Vu will be presiding. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Stroo Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook page. Contributions in memory of Don may be made to Faith Hospice.
