Franklin H. Smith, age 93, of Byron Center, and formerly of Holland and Grandville, Michigan, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and owned the Highlander Men’s Wear store in Zeeland for many years.  Frank was active in his church and public service and loved to donate his time and talents to help others.  He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 70 years, Coiene; three children, Ken and Nan Smith, Audrey and John Weiss, Earl and Vernae Smith; nine grandchildren, Phil and Alana Nevins, Dave and Ellie Nevins, Brian Smith, Rachael and Eric Lampen, Dean Smith, Lis (Smith) and Chad VanTatenhove, Dan and Emilie Smith, Audrey and Seth Buma, Janae Fox; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Burnadette and Rolly Haney, Annette and Gaylord Smith.  As requested, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
