Frederick Eugene Powers, age 88, a resident of The Oaks of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Fred proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He loved sports, working with the White Caps, and was an announcer for the Kelloggsville High School football games. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally; and parents, John and Myrtie Powers. Surviving are his son, Christopher Powers, grandchildren, Keith Reed, Kyle Reed, Kassie Ann Reed, Joseph Powers; great granddaughter, Alayna K; sister, Mary Dean; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 30, at City of Life Church, 574 Divisiion Ave. S. Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Pastor Christy Lipscomb will officiate.
