Kenneth Vander Veen, age 90, of Caledonia, ran into the arms of Jesus on Friday, September 17, 2021. Ken served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He went on to work for Spartan Stores for 29 years and also enjoyed his work on the family farm. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his children, David Vander Veen, Karen (Jerry) Bruin, Ronald (Alice) Vander Veen, Kenneth J. (Marsha) Vander Veen, Gordon (Jackie) Vander Veen, Roger (Doreen) Vander Veen; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his sister, Marion Kraima; his sister-in-law, Jean Vander Veen; his brother-in-law, Wiley Timmerman; many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by 8 siblings, and his granddaughter, Allisyn Vander Veen. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, from 5 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, and on Friday, September 24, from 10 - 10:45 AM prior to the service at church. The funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, September 24, at Grace United Reformed Church, with his pastor, Rev. Doug Barnes, officiating. Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery, Leighton Township.
