Janet Lou Anne (Peck) Moody, age 81, of Middleville, MI, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Ruby Peck; brothers, Vern Peck, and Norman Peck; her sister, Lenore Field. Janet is lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, David; children, Daniel (Angela) Moody, Alan (Amy) Moody, Lucinda Moody; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her brother, Sheldon (CoraLee) Peck. Janet was born on November 5, 1940, to Russell and Ruby Peck. She attended Cass City High School and graduated in 1958. She then went on to nursing school, attending Hurley School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1962. She spent 1 year at Grand Rapids Baptist in 1963. Janet met David and married on August 17, 1963. She worked at Mary Free Bed, Butterworth, and Blodgett Hospitals and then moved to Deford, MI. She worked as a nurse at many places including Hills and Dales General Hospital, and Provincial House, in Cass City, MI, Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital in Togo, West Africa, Lake Ann Camp, and Lincoln Lake Baptist Camp, here in Michigan. She volunteered for the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services. The family will greet relatives and friends at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49508, on Thursday, December 9, from 6 to 8 PM, and also prior to the service at the church on Friday, December 10, from 12 noon to 1 PM. The funeral service will begin at 1 PM, on Friday, December 10, at the church. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery on Monday, December 13, at 12 noon. David and Janet were working to raise money for the musical instruments for the Woume Church with Pastor Joseph Akakpo. He joked that he would buy Janet flowers while she was alive, so she could smell and enjoy them and did not want to spend money on them after she couldn’t enjoy them anymore, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to this cause, that was near and dear to their hearts.
