Douglas W. Snyder, age 65, of Byron Center, Michigan, was born on October 11, 1956, and called to his Heavenly Father's arms on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, after courageously fighting a painful liver and kidney disease for more than a year. He never gave up the hope of a successful recovery, and never ever complained. Doug was an amazing man, with many accomplishments that most people would not even dream of. Doug was co-owner of Keyboard World, Inc. in Grand Rapids, that he and his mother, Joni, started in 1975. He was also a brilliant and accomplished real estate investor, owning several commercial and residential properties in the Western Michigan area. He had a passion for beautiful Cadillacs, and had collected several during his lifetime. Most admirably, Doug had a heart of compassion and a true desire to help anyone in need. Doug leaves behind his grieving and broken-hearted mother, Joni Snyder Zieger, whom he cherished. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, including Steven Elzinga, who was like his brother, and his precious little dog, Sukki. Doug was preceded in death by his father, William Homer Snyder, as well as his grandparents. The family will greet visitors on Monday, January 17, from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Pastor Marcus Schmidt will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.

I hadn't been in contact with Doug since my time working for Keyboard World. So, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I've always valued the times we shared, and his kindness and sage advice. I regret losing touch in recent years, but I'm grateful for the times we shared a laugh and a cup of coffee. I'll always have fond memories of Doug. He was a truly decent human being.

Dear Joni! Joy and I are so sorry for your loss of
Doug. We know it’s been a long hard road for Doug and
Especially for you being the caregiver. As we’ve talked many times before that we’d do anything for our kids,
well, you’ve done the ultimate, above and beyond for Doug. One of our favorite memories of Doug and you is when we stayed at the waterfall house in Saugatuck, Kitty joined us, and we got asked to leave because we were having too much fun. A very happy time! Joni, are prayers are with you for peace, strength, and comfort.
Love and prayers, Ken and Joy
