KURT FLIER
4/28/1962 - 1/18/2022
Cutlerville, Michigan
Kurt Douglas Flier, age 59, a child of God, is now fully in the presence of Jesus. Kurt had a love for Christ, first and foremost. He beamed with laughter, had a zest for life and encouraged unity. Kurt was a godly man and an inspiration to many. As a faithful servant, Kurt served as a Deacon at First CRC and Ministry Director of Living Water Ministry Network. Kurt was firm in what he believed, a witness to all he met, and led people to grow spiritually. Kurt was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Flier; father, Gerrit Flier, Jr.; and brothers, Terry and Bryan Flier. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Eric Flier; his grandpup, Blue; his brother, Randy (Judy) Flier; his sister, Robin Flier; his sister-in-law, Kathy Flier; his uncle, Richard Flier; his aunts, Alma Russo and Mary Katerberg; his stepmother, Pat Flier Lettinga; his stepsister, Jennifer (John) Klaassen; his stepbrother, Richard (Jennifer) VanTol; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kurt will also be deeply missed by his First Christian Reformed Church family, his Living Water Ministry Network family, and many close friends, including Pastor Jim and Linda Bright, with whom he bonded immediately and grew together spiritually. A celebration of Kurt's life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 25, at First Christian Reformed Church (651 Franklin St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507), with Pastor Randy Buursma and Pastor Jim Bright officiating. Masks will be strongly encouraged. The service will also be livestreamed via YouTube: First CRC of Grand Rapids. Shortly after the service a link will be available at firstcrc.org/. There will be a time of visitation with Kurt's family prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM, as well as a time of refreshments immediately following the service at the church. Private interment will take place in Blain Cemetery in the Spring. Special thanks are offered to the staff on the 4th floor at Metro Health Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Water Ministry Network (LWMN), P.O. Box 8227, Kentwood, MI 49518. |
