Daniel Joseph Signore

Daniel Joseph Signore passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022.  Daniel was born in Chicago, Illinois, September 23, 1929. He graduated from Lane Technological High School in Chicago in 1947, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1954, where he specialized in airplane engine mechanics. He was employed at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama, and was transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he worked from 1966-1968.  He was then offered a position as a cataloger at the Battle Creek Federal Center, where he worked until his retirement in 1985.  Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine (Gatta) Signore; and his father, Anthony Signore; as well as his wife, Francis Naomi (Smedley) Signore; and sister, Mary Signore. He is survived by his three sons, Dino Signore and Gina (Ayers), Joseph "Tony" Signore and Diane (Rosendahl), Michael Signore and Helena (Hofer); as well as 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; his sister, Isabella (Signore) Saladino.  The family will have a celebration of life in the spring.  Interment will be in Fort Custer.  Memorial contributions in honor of Daniel may be made to St. Philip Catholic School in Battle Creek, MI.
