David C. Wolford left this world on Saturday, February 19, 2022, lovingly surrounded by his children. David was born August 16, 1933 to Floyd and Elsie Wolford in Isabella County. He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Doris Merrick on February 27,1955. She preceded him in death April 1, 2008. David was a member of the Masons. He was also a member of the National Guard, helping in the Palm Sunday tornado in 1956 that hit Grand Rapids. He spent his career in trucking working for Cummins Diesel, Hooker Motor Freight, RRR Trucking and others. His favorite past times were being at his children’s sporting events and time at the lake. He was always willing to fix friends’ cars or do anything for a neighbor. He is survived by his three children, Carol (Tim) Brock, Greg (Dede) Wolford and Beverly (Randy) Maiers. He has 7 grandchildren, Joshua (Nicole) Greiner, Lauren (TJ) Szot, Amanda (Adam) Wolford, Stacey (Cory) Wolford, Tyler Maiers, Sydney Maiers and Andrew Maiers and step- grandchildren, Connor Malmborg, Michael (Jackie) Malmborg, and Jonathon Brock. He has many great grandchildren. David has one surviving brother, Donald Boyce, and sister-in-law, Barbara Boyce. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Boyce, Lawrence (Lorraine) Boyce, Dale (Barb) Boyce, Clayton (Letah) Boyce, and his sisters, Dorothy (Gene) Batten and Norma (Charles) Adams. The family will greet visitors on Friday, February 25, from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. Donations can be made to Parkinson’s Association of West Michigan and Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids.
