Phyllis L. Hall - Hartwell, age 80, of Wayland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 14, 2022. Phyllis was born at home in Muskegon County, Michigan, on October 13, 1941, one of thirteen children born to Roy and Elizabeth Shue. Phyllis married Fred Hall on February 25, 1957. They were married for 27 years and were blessed with eight children before Fred's death on May 4, 1984. After Fred's passing, Phyllis married Leon Hartwell on August 3, 1985, and together they enjoyed more than 14 years of marriage until Leon's death on March 17, 2000. Phyllis was a CNA for 25 years and worked at Laurels of Sandy Creek of Wayland, Metron of Allegan, and Railside Assisted Living of Byron Center. Phyllis loved to garden and can food, with her freezer jam being a family favorite. All of her family enjoyed her homemade cooking and baking. Phyllis collected angels, loved her old country music, and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Phyllis was preceded in death by two of her children, Darin J. Hall and Sherry Lee Hall; a grandson, Mark Hall; a great grandson, Caleb Duley; and ten siblings. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Tim (Angie) Hall, Mark Hall, Kevin (Tammie) Hall, Tersa (Ken) Sparks, Dawn (Ben) Kraft, Shelly (Emilio) Badalamenti; 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Dorothy Shook and Doris Stiles; as well as many nieces and nephews. As Phyllis requested, cremation has taken place, and her cremains will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayland. Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
