Gladys Arlene Dornbos 93 of Grandville, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 30, 2022.  She passed away from cancer peacefully in Ypsilanti, Michigan nearest her sons residing in the area.   She was preceded in death by her parents John and Clara Van Noord, and her brothers Lewis Van Noord, Gerald Van Noord, and sisters Evelyn Holwerda, Jeanette Van Rhee.  She is remembered lovingly by her sons Chuck, Jim and Steve Dornbos, grandchildren, Jeremey, Elizabeth (Zi), Dawn, Ryan, Collin, Stephanie and Bill Dornbos, great grandchildren Clay, Miranda, Aiden, Joseph Dornbos, Ashia, Kayleigh, Savannah, Jayden, Leia Jewel, Monica, Jade, Jonathon Richards, Eleanor Dornbos, great great grandchildren Isabelle, Benjamin and Grayson, and many nieces and nephews.

Her lifelong devotion to religion and unyielding desire to be with her family provided her some of the greatest moments her life.  Her contributions to her church functions and high school teams brought her great joy over many years   She was an avid sports fan and loved to watch basketball and professional baseball games.  She enjoyed serving as an election polling representative throughout the years.  The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 5, at 1:00 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.  Rev John Witvliet will be speaking on the family’s behalf. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that Memorial contribution be made to Hospice Center or American Cancer Society
