Visitation: At Friendship Christian Reformed Church, Monday, April 18, from 5 - 8 PM, also prior to the service on Tuesday, April 19, from 11 - 11:45 AM

God called his son, James E. Wyatt, age 85, of Wayland, MI, to his eternal home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.  He was born to Merle and Bernice Wyatt (deceased) on December 4, 1936, in Escanaba, MI.  Jim was preceded in death by his precious wife, Ardis; their son, Todd; his sister, Margorie Ann Apelegren; brothers, Bill and Lee Wyatt.  He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his children, Fawn and Richard Postma, Jim and Jackie Wyatt; grandchildren, Luke, Derek and Karmen Postma, Peyton and Logan Wyatt, and Reghan; sister, Donna Martin; brother, Bruce and Shirley Wyatt; extended friends, Drew and Justine Born, Dan and Allie Maring, and Dr. Tammy Born.  Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in Germany.  He enjoyed being a police officer for the Grand Rapids Police Department, as well as the Safety Director for General Motors.  Most of all, Jim cherished spending time with his family.  The visitation and funeral service will both be held at Friendship Christian Reformed Church, 190 - 100th St. SE, Byron Center, 49315.  Visitation will be on Monday, April 18, from 5 - 8 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 12 Noon, with a brief visitation prior to the service from 11 - 11:45 AM.  Pastors Cal Compagner and Tim Holwerda will officiate.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Jim can be made to Faith Hospice or Caledonia American Legion Post 305.

We were sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I was the UAW Health and safety representative at the 36th st. GM plant. For the most part Jim and I worked as a team to create the safest possible working environment. We were sometimes at odds during negotiations as to be expected but were still friends.
