Gary Michael Parker, age 72, of Kentwood, Michigan, formerly of Big Rapids, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, May 9, 2022, surrounded by family. He was a man who loved life, adventure, his family and friends. He was always up for anything; a round of golf, a bike ride, a hike or spending time with his 5 grandkids. Gary lived each day to the fullest and taught us all to embrace life and do the same. He retired from Amway in 2016 and enjoyed every minute of retirement and was always planning his next adventure. He carried a presence about him that we all loved and will be cherished long after he is gone. He was born on February 20, 1950, in Big Rapids, MI. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Moline); son Brian, wife, Melissa and their children, Henry and Miles Parker; daughter, Julie Parker; son Craig, wife, Ashely and their children, Avery and Jackson Parker; son, Kevin and his son, Dylan Parker; and Dylan’s mother, Shanon Bieszka; his 4 brothers, Ross and (Laurie) Parker, Scott and (Bernie) Parker, Cory and (Dawn) Parker, Todd and (Valarie) Parker; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Beverly; sister, Cheryl; and brother, Curt. Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th ST SE, Grand Rapids 49508, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 14, at Cornerstone Church, 2730 56th ST SW, Wyoming, MI, 49418, at 11 am. We were so saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. Although we haven’t seen a lot of each other recently, you all were a big part of our family for a very long time. Gary was a devoted loyal friend who will be remembered fondly and with much love. Our hearts ache for your sorrow and our thoughts a prayers are with you all. Unfortunately, Colorado is a bit far to make the funeral but please know I am with you all in spirit during these trying times. Hold each other close and know Gary is no longer suffering and is now watching over all of you. Our love and sympathy, Maura, Joe, Christy, Katie, Darrin and Michael
