Carolyn J. Corson, age 86, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born to the late August and Jessie Post in Caledonia, MI. She graduated from Caledonia High School. Carolyn married Walter Corson in September 1955 and together they raised their family of six children. Surviving are her children, Ed (Marilyn) Corson, Roger (Julie) Corson, Nancy (Curt) Bonzheim, Jerry (Melanie) Corson, Kari (Andy) Westlake, Toni Wilbur; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Andy Post, Betty (Hank) Kapteyn, Linda (Jim) Mulder; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Post, Bonnie Brunsink, and Florence Corson.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Corson, only two short months ago; son, David Corson; granddaughter, Betsy Corson; brothers, Donald Post, John Post; sister, Marilyn Post; brother-in-law, William Corson; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Frank Ondersma. Carolyn and Wally enjoyed camping trips, fishing and travel. In their golden years, they enjoyed senior bus trips as well as Steelcase Retiree get-togethers. Carolyn and Wally loved sitting outside in their chairs and appreciated the beauty of the farmland and pond across the road from their home. Many people waved or stopped by to chat as Carolyn loved people and could strike up a  conversation with anyone. In their later years, Carolyn and Wally enjoyed fish fry's and dinners with their adult children and she especially loved a good game of right, left, center! Carolyn made new friends quickly at Sunset Manor and really enjoyed them, even though her stay there was brief. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Manor and Emmanuel Hospice for the excellent care they provided for both mom and dad. Visitation and funeral service honoring both Carolyn and Wally will be held Wednesday, May 18, from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Thursday, May 19, at 11 am with Rev. Merle Buwalda officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 am. Interment will be in Dutton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kids Wish Network, 301 Bear Ridge Circle, Palm Harbor, FL 34683 or Emmanuel Hospice, 401 Hall St. SW #263, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
