Phyllis Jane Schaaf (VanDyk), age 86, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2022.  Phyllis enjoyed baking and growing flowers. She and her husband, Ron, fostered many children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Schaaf; grandson, Nicholas Miesen; parents, Simon and Betty VanDyk; son-in-law, Rick Currier; brother, Fred VanDyk; and sister, Elaine Schaaf. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her children, Amy Currier, Tari (Rick) Zahm, Donald Schaaf, Chad Schaaf, Karla Miesen; son-in-law, Donald Miesen; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Ralph) Kerkstra; brother, Glen (Barb) VanDyk; sister-in-law, Betty VanDyk, brother-in-law, Ken Schaaf; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 am Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
