It is with great sadness and joy we announce that Debra Jo Berkenpas, 69, of Muskegon, MI, was welcomed into the open and waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Debbie entered Glory on Sunday, May 29, 2022, leaving her beloved husband of 47 years, Bob. Also left to grieve is their daughter, Beccie and Pat Alexander; their son, Rob and Jenni Berkenpas Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan (Kelsey) Alexander, Sean Alexander, Hunter Alexander, Devin Berkenpas, Ben Giovannetti, Jacob Giovannetti, Nina Giovannetti; her step-son, Tony and Manona Berkenpas; older  brother, Marshall and Ruth VanStee; older sister, Judy VanHaitsma; sisters-in-law, Judy Kay Berkenpas, Kathy Russo, Nancy and Kerry Andrews, Amy and Jerry Dunn; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and her two best friends, Cindy Gurd (Kentwood, MI) and Rozanne Gould (Ontario, Canada). Debbie had a passion for her children, played the organ, and wrote Christmas programs for church kids. The visitation and service will be held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508, on Saturday, June 4.  Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM, with Pastor Ken Stults officiating.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
