Alfonso "Al" Mills, age 80, of Cutlerville, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, July 1, 2022. Al retired as a CM Sgt from the US Air Force after 30 years of service to his country. He was a big fan of many Motown Records artists, especially the Temptations. His parents, Oliver and Addie Mae Mills; an infant grandson; and two brothers, preceded him in death. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 49 years, Susan; children, Quida Brownfield, Alfonso Mills, Monica Sampson all of Detroit, Lindsey (Rodney) Reames of Kentwood, Laurie Anderson of Wolcott, IN, Libbey (Tom Baker) Hess of Dorr, MI, Jason Mills of Grand Rapids; many grandchildren including, Jessica (Tyler) Jackson of West Lafayette, IN, Travis (Megan) Spencer of Lebanon, IN, Andrew Reames of Grand Rapids, Austin (Bianca Keely) Hess of Kentwood, Alexis (Chance Bradley) Reames of Red Banks, MS, and Kehlani Rain Mills of Grand Rapids. He also has several other grandchildren, Allissa, Kofi, Troy, Erin, Asya, Alfonso Jr., Eryka, Kobe, Madison, Monique, Davianna, McKenzie; and 25 great grandchildren. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 12 noon to 1 pm prior to the service; at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street, SE; with Rev. Cecilio Reyna officiating. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Al may be made to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital or Faith Hospice. |
