Karen (McLain) Geysbeek, of Sebring, FL, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at The Palms of Sebring in Florida. Karen was a graduate of Graham Hospital School of Nursing, Canton, IL, and of Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. She served as a missionary nurse for 26 years with SIM in Liberia and Niger Republic, West Africa, and at the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring, FL. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, MI, and an associate member of Southside Baptist Church in Sebring, FL. Her parents, Dale and Dorothy McLain, husband, Lawrence E. "Larry" Geysbeek, and three brothers preceded her in death. Karen will be deeply missed by her step-children, Timothy (Tami) Geysbeek, Thomas (Lori) Geysbeek, Philip (Sue) Geysbeek, Ruth (Art) Hegdahl; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; four sisters; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews throughout the country. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE, with Rev. Brian Cederquist officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Kentwood. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, July 12, from 6 to 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, and at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 13, at Good News Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to SIM USA for ELWA Hospital, Radio Station ELWA, or SIM Retirement Village through SIM USA, 14830 Choate Circle, Charlotte, NC 28273.
