Marvin Dale TeSlaa, age 92, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born October 3, 1929, in northwest Iowa, where he grew up. Marv was proud of the fact that he never missed a day of school, not even during the winter blizzards! He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War and went on to work as a manager at Godwin Body Shop, retiring as the owner. Marv deeply loved his family and had a heart for helping others. Besides being active in his church and community, he enjoyed volunteering for Volunteers In Service and Kids Hope. Marv was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Alberdeen "Dee"; his daughter-in-law, Mary TeSlaa; his brothers, Raymond TeSlaa, Bernard (Tressa) TeSlaa; his sisters, Edith (Gerald) Vis, Norma (Willis) Bartman; and a sister-in-law, Vi TeSlaa. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Russell (Gayle) TeSlaa, Yvonne (Mike) Veenstra, Rodney TeSlaa, Valerie (Jeff) Gorter, Mark (Stephanie) TeSlaa; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his brother, LeRoy TeSlaa; his sister-in-law, Marleen TeSlaa; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, from 3 - 6 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, and prior to the service on Monday, July 18, from 10 - 10:45 AM at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th Street SE, with Rev. Ed Visser officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the church website: www.cutlervilleeast.org. Interment, with military honors, will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Marv may be made to the Breton Woods Benevolent Fund.
