Walter R. Hayen, age 95, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Walter proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from the C&O / CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his children, Barbara (Thomas) Sipka, Dawn (Keith) Mellberg, Carolyn (Scott) Evans, Alan (Kristin) Hayen; step-children, Debbie (Gary) Gregory, Brian (Rhonda) Ellsworth, Jeff Ellsworth; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Hain; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Isobel; his second wife, Jean; his parents and siblings.  A Celebration of Walter's life will take place on Sunday, August 28, from 1:30 - 3:00 PM at Rock Urban Church (Youth Building), 3710 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.  Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens.
