Hazel H. Blanton, age 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, August 13, 2022, and is now with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Hazel loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; and son, Donnie. Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert (Deeann) Blanton, Gary (Debra) Blanton, Lynn (Ken) Holmes; grandchildren, Robert (Beth) Blanton, Sarah (Steve) Brinkhuis, Jennifer (Joe) Boyd, Amanda (Evan) Rummel, Adam (Caley) Holmes, Sean (Sara) Holmes, 14 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Harold (Judy) Hunt, John (Janice) Hunt, Carol (Doug) Hatton, Margaret Hunt; sister-in-law, Betty Howard; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street, SE; where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Private interment services will be held at Winchester Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Byron Manor, Health Care Associates, and Emmanuel Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Hazel.
