              Barbara Diane Smoyer, 63 years of age, passed away at her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 1, 2022. She is survived by her brothers, Randy (Gail) Gumbert, Robert Gumbert, and her son, Anthony Mosketti (Patty, Geno), as well as her nieces Jennifer Gumbert (Oliver, Nora), Melissa Gumbert, and Renee Gumbert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jane Gumbert.

              Barb was a loving mother who diligently raised and provided for her son. From a young age, she enjoyed the arts and dreamt of becoming a furniture designer. She loved photography, which she discovered later in life, and could often be seen at downtown art festivals getting the perfect shot. Barb was a thoughtful gift giver and loved Christmas, especially her Santa decorations. There will be private family services. As we mourn her passing, we would like to encourage those who are struggling with mental health to seek help.
