Larry J. Van Singel, age 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Larry proudly served with the 9th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He went on to work in the casket industry as a delivery driver and operations manager for over 50 years. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Harris Van Singel; his brother, James Van Singel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Babe Schierbeek; and his brother-in-law, Randy Schierbeek. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Juanita; his children, Monica (Keith) Van Wienen, Jeff (Amber) Van Singel, and Brandon (Mindy) Van Singel; his grandchildren, Curtis (Maria), Kyle (Jenny), Allyssa, Bradley, Emily, Aiden, and Cameron Van Wienen; Arynn (Tony) Schafer, Paige, and Sofia Van Singel; James and Colton Van Singel; great-grandchildren, Aubree, Ashtyn, and Halston Schafer, Caden, and Thea Van Wienen; his mother, Cornelia Van Singel; his brother, Ron (Fayth) Van Singel; his sister, Sue (Bruce) Walcott; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Schierbeek, Lori (Bob) Hemmes, Rhonda (Ken) Nederhood, Rocky (Cindy) Schierbeek, Lisa Hadden, and Rex (Carmen) Schierbeek; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 11 AM, with a brief visitation from 10 – 10:45 AM, prior to the service, at First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church, 8541 Byron Center Ave. SW, with Rev. Ron Noorman officiating. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. In honor of Larry, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. |
