Geraldine Emily (Karpinski) Ploeg, age 86, of Barryton, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2022.  Geraldine loved spending summers with her husband, Gilbert and their dog, Buddy, up north at the lake, fishing and taking pontoon rides with family and friends. They traveled, and she would always call to say she was "on the road again" and spent their winters with family in Georgia and Alabama. Geraldine always called on birthdays and sang everyone the "Birthday Song" and loved to send cards to friends and family, reminding them to "Keep Smiling!" She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gilbert. Geraldine will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Rick (Sheryl) Ploeg, Terrie (Bruce) McSorley, Marge (Scott) Smith, John (Cindy) Ploeg, Barb (Todd) Baareman, Gilbert (Vonda) Ploeg, Tracy (Brian) Gallagher, Mike (Melissa) Ploeg; 35 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers and sister; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 15, from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM at Stroo Funeral Home. Following the visitation, the family invites you to remain for fellowship and refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
