John L. Mulder, age 97, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. John proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella; son, John Glenn; his brother and sisters, Jim Mulder, Kaye Sharphorn, and Ann Post. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirlene (Brock); children, Deb (John) Hoover, Donna (Don) VanderLinde, Marilyn (Gunnar) White, Marge (Tim) Montsma; 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Cindy (Craig) Smith, Keith (Jackie) LeFebre, Randy (Linda) LeFebre; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane Mulder, Joanne Ellens, Willard (Joyce) Brock, Gladys (Dave) Mulder, Rolene (Ade) Gilder, Jean (Bill) DeWaard, Tress Brock, Ardean (Gerry) Garvelink, Jack (Marcia) Miedema, and Coralyn (Don) Vant’Hof. The family will greet visitors on Friday, November 25, from 4 - 7 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 26, at Trinity United Reformed Church, 7350 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with Pastor Jacob London officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 am at the church. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of John may be made to Voice of the Martyrs or Trinity U.R.C.
