Berdean Mary (Wolf) Pitsch, age 97, of Byron Center, MI, was welcomed into heaven on Monday, December 19, 2022, by her husband of 69 years, Forris Pitsch; her parents, Lewis and Laura; two sisters, Eleanor and Arlene; and one brother, Bernard. She was born on November 17, 1925, on the family farm to Lewis and Laura (Selvig) Wolf. Berdean’s family was very important to her. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends by her pool. After retiring from General Motors, she went to work at Rogers Department Store wrapping gifts. She was a lifetime member of St. Sebastian Parish. Berdean is survived by her children, Janet Rettig, Wayne Pitsch; her grandchildren, Cory Rettig, Leah Rettig, Andrea DePree, Amber (Scott) Rettig, Darryl (Emily) Rettig, Melonie (Jason) Passero; great-grandchildren, Barry DePree Jr., Logan Passero, Parker Passero, Forris Rettig, Fiona Rettig, Adalyn Harkema; and special friends, Darryl (Mary) Rettig, Sr.; and the extended relatives in Germany. A special thanks to Faith Hospice and Rachel Sleda for the care and support during this time. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 10 - 11 am at Historic St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, Byron Center, where Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am with Monsignor Bill Duncan as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
