Douglas Gordon McClure, age 67, of Alto, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Elin McClure, and his father-in-law, Dale Werner. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Leslie (Werner); his brother, Randall McClure; his sister, Linda (Tom) Baker; his mother-in-law, Gail Werner; his brother-in-law, David (Amy) Werner; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Doug went on to a 36 year finance career with Amway Corporation. Loving music, the organ in particular, Doug decided to learn to arrange music. And, due to suffering a stroke at age 19, he taught himself chords, expanding his one-handed playing abilities. He served in church many years as organist, starting when still in high school. Doug loved nature and the outdoors as God's creation, and had a great sense of humor. His message to all is to fear God and keep His commandments (Psalm 128:1). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, from 4 - 7 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, January 19, at Maranatha Bible Church, with Pastor Todd Dykstra officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the church prior to the service from 10 - 10:45 AM. Private interment will be in Alaska Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha Bible Church, 4426 Stony Creek NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321. |

I knew him from Amway and Aquinas. He was an exceptionally pleasant young man. His christian faith was evident. I trust you will find comfort in that same faith.
