Sherlene Grace (Dykhouse) Diekevers age 80 of Byron Center, MI was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on February 24, 2023 with her family by her side. Sherlene was a loving and faithful wife, an amazing mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. We have so many treasured memories with her. Her love for God, family and friends was evident in the way she lived her life.  She was a kind, generous, hardworking, and faithful prayer warrior for those she cared about.  She loved to travel, take photos, go camping, ride bikes, sew, knit, crochet, cook, bake, make cards for others with an added touch of dad’s coloring skills. She made countless batches of homemade applesauce, which has carried on to the younger generations. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.  She experienced many challenges with steadfast faith. Her family finds comfort in the promises she lived and died with. It is well with our souls.  

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Dykhouse and her in-laws Harry and Agnes Diekevers. Sherlene is remembered and will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years, Gerald "Jerry"; children, Greg (Amy) Diekevers, Kevin (Carmen) Diekevers, Tricia (Doug) VanKoevering; grandchildren, Jonathon (Amanda) Diekevers, Justin (Pamela) Diekevers, Matthew (Morgan) Diekevers, Tyler Diekevers, Austin (Heather) Diekevers, Mariah (Ryan) Penny, Nolan Diekevers, Anjali Diekevers, Eli Van Koevering,  Michaela (Michael) Fetty, step grandchildren Ryan (Angela) Bouwman and Stephanie (Rich) Senneker; 10 great-grandchildren whom she adored, Aaron, Elliana, Zachary, Grayson, Hayes, Ryder, Myles, Addilyn, Lucas and Baby Fetty, brother Bruce (Joyce) Dykhouse, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Karen) Diekevers,Willie (Gord) Bode, Ken (Pat) Diekevers, Carol (Jim) Overweg, Sandy (Larry) Overweg, Gary (Pam) Diekevers and Beth Diekevers.  

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 7 from 5:00PM -8:00PM at Friendship CRC Church in Byron Center, MI. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 11:00 AM with a celebration meal following the service. Pastor Cal Compagner will officiate. Interment in Blain Cemetery.
