Rita Marie Herrygers, 91, passed away on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Billy; granddaughter, Christina; her parents; and siblings. She is survived by her children, Arlie (Ray) Connaughton, John (Judy) Herrygers, Cinda (Phil) Schoonbeck, Vanessa (Randy) Derks, Brenda Herrygers, Jude Herrygers, Rita Davis, and Sandra Herrygers. Gram was loved by her grandchildren, Misty Vos (Roger Sackrider), Melanie (Mike) Mazzola, David (Kelly) Schoonbeck, Steve (Heather) Herrygers, Molly (Jeff) Teszlewicz, Katie (Matt) Wallace, Scott (Krista) Herrygers, Alison (Robert) Latta, Brian (Marybeth) Derks, Patrick (Allie) Connaughton, Kayla Davis (Bobby Fuller), Colleen Connaughton, Jamie Herrygers, and Alyssa Davis. GG cherished her great-grandchildren, Rylan, Brayden, Marec, Sammy, Cade, Jeffery, Lexi, Will, Aaron, Nate, Vinny, Lily, Adam, Maddie, Abby, Elly, Mara, Barrett, Calvin, Ellie, Andy, Johnny, Brinley, Caroline, Henry, Burke, and Sadie. Rita loved to cook and bake for her family. She shared her cooking talents with St. Andrews School and Altar Society, Aquinas College, Calvin College, Camp Blodgett, and many friends. She loved animals, especially her cat Little Baby. Rita’s family would like to thank the staff at Holland Home Breton Woods for taking such great care of her.  A memorial service will be held at the end of March. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Blodgett.
