Betty J. (Bouwman) Stegink, age 89, of Grand Rapids, MI, walked peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, big campfires, and going to the beach.  Betty spent 25 years as a nurse's aide at Raybrook Manor.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Kuipers; five brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.  Lovingly remembering Betty is her husband of 69 years, Jack; children, Larry (Nancy) Stegink, Ellen (Jim) Decker, Dave (Valerie) Stegink, Joan (Ron) Thayer.  She was blessed with 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  Also remembering Betty are her sisters, Norma Windemuller, Carol Griffioen; sister-in-law, Char Stegink; many nieces and nephews.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, March 26, from 2 - 5 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at Fuller Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 1239 Fuller Ave SE, Grand Rapids, 49506, on Monday, March 27, at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Nate DeJong-McCarron and Rev. Doug MacLeod will officiate.  Private interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions in honor of Betty may be made to Potters House Christian Schools or Zuni Missions Christian School.
