Corrie Marie (Miedema) Smidstra, age 84, was transferred from her pain and suffering on earth and went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 14, 2023.  Corrie lived for many years in the Cutlerville - Byron Center area. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Joe Smidstra; children, Colin Smidstra, Maureen (Don) Mingerink, Kathryn Smidstra; grandchildren, Justin (Kelly), Zachary, Michael, Carly Smidstra, Tricia, Ethan (Alyssa), Joshua (Abigail), Andrew (Meghan) Mingerink; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Daniel Mingerink, Adriana, Louise Mingerink; brothers and sister, Andy (Liz) Miedema, Ann (Sid) DeJong, Bill Miedema; brothers-in-law, John (Judy) Smidstra, Ben (Letty) Smidstra; sisters-in-law, Marianne Lazaro, Grace Smidstra; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sid (Joanne) Miedema, George Miedema, and brother-in-law, Henk Smidstra. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, May 18, from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Friday, May 19, from 10 - 10:45 am prior to the service at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 7171 Willard Ave. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Rev. Allen Petroelje will officiate. The service will be live-streamed at youtube.com/@CovenantChurchGrandRapids. Choose live.  Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Corrie may be made to Holland Home.
