Michael L. Young, age 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 7, 2023. He was born to Herschel and Ruth Young on May 19, 1953, on an Army base in Morocco, French North Africa, while his father was stationed there. Mike impacted many lives in his work as a professor at Spring Arbor University and Cornerstone University, and enjoyed being involved in the life of the church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, Russel and Janet Black. He loved his family dearly and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Sherrie; daughters, Rachael and Fred Boyer, Michelle and Tom Uminn; grandchildren, Alexandra, Ean, and Colin Boyer, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Ethan, Sadie, Emily, Abigail and Sarah Uminn; sister, Peggy and Ron VanSteeland; brother-in-law, Brad and Gail Black; as well as his extended family members and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 14, at Stroo Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Farnol officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gilda's Club.
