It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Ashley.  Ashley Rietema passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, after a long illness. Ashley was born on August 7, 1984, with multiple disabilities and challenges. She is survived by her mother, Cathy and stepfather, John Kuzma; and her father, Kenneth Rietema. Ashley is survived by her brother, Josef Rietema; extended family; and loving care givers, Phil, Patty, and Erin. Ashley is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Joos and Titia Van Koevering; uncle, Chris Van Koevering; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Joyce Rietema; and infant brother, Aaron Rietema. Ashley demonstrated perseverance and heroic strength as she fought difficult health and physical limitations throughout her 38 years. She demonstrated the gift of unconditional love. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kent Memorial Gardens located at 7295 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 1 PM.
