Jevne D. Vaughan, age 96, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. A graduate of Ferris Institute, Jevne honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force. He went on to work as an auditor for the State of Michigan. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was an avid reader. He earned numerous pins as a top blood donor and proudly had his name printed in the newspaper. Jevne loved his family and enjoyed his faithful dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Fischer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 74 years, Evylena; children, Craig (Marjorie) Vaughan, Robyn Bishop, Karen (Lou) Barfield; grandchildren, Alexandra Fischer, Kyle Bishop, Sam Barfield, Jimmy (Amber) Whitmer, Erin (Paul) Cook; and nine great grandchildren. The family will greet visitors on Friday, August 18, from 3 - 7 pm at Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St. SE). Memorial contributions may be made to your local humane society or to M.A.D.D.
