Arnold M. "Nol" Michels, age 80, of Cutlerville, was called to his Heavenly home on Friday, September 29, 2023. The son of Frederik C and Christina A (Koster) Michels, he emigrated from the Netherlands in 1962. Nol served honorably in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed gardening and volunteered at Frederick Meijer Gardens. He worked at many jobs, a draftsman and designer in the tool and die industry, clock maker, and Pastoral Associate at Holy Family Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Bep Kolkman & Rose Gerritsen, his brothers, Fritz and Bert Michels, and his brother in-law, Dirk Gerritsen in the Netherlands. Nol will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Monique (Walt) VandenToorn; grandchildren, Jasmine (Anthony) Veltre, Justin (Nhi) VandenToorn; great grandchildren, Elijah, and Liam Veltre; brother in-law, Henk Kolkman and sister in-law, Nan Michels. The family will greet visitors on Monday, October 2, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 3, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave. SW, with an hour of visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Rev. Msgr. William H. Duncan JCL as celebrant. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
