JoEllen Lynne Dunn went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 57. While her passing was sudden, she was surrounded by family and friends in her final moments. She is survived by her parents, Delbert and Betty Dunn, her brother, David (Melissa) Dunn, and her three nieces, Taylor (Nick) Wyatt, Madison and Ellie Dunn; and numerous other family members and friends. JoEllen was born to Delbert and Betty Dunn on February 22, 1966. After graduating from East Kentwood High School, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in journalism at Olivet Nazarene University. JoEllen was always very passionate about writing and history, and loved sharing those interests with her friends and family. An avid sports fan, she loved rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. JoEllen was a loyal employee at Meijer and recently celebrated 35 years of working there. One of the things that was most important to JoEllen was her faith. She was an active member at Kentwood Community Church and very much involved in women’s ministry and her small group Bible study. JoEllen was a light to all she came into contact with and touched many lives with her testimony and strong faith. Celebration of JoEllen’s life will be held 1:00PM Friday, October 20 with visitation beginning at noon at Kentwood Community Church, 1200 60th St, Grand Rapids, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the women’s ministries or mission outreach at Kentwood Community Church.

I'm soo sorry to hear about JoEllen . What a shock!!! We have been friends for many years. We were neighbors at Sandy Pines & I also enjoyed doing fantasy sports with them for several years. I didn't win many games but it sure was fun. My heart is breaking for Del, Betty, & Dave & of course her favorite nieces. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very sad time. RIP JoEllen for you are definitely an angel in heaven.
