Ellis H. Davis, also known as the Handsome Hillbilly, age 88, of White Cloud, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by his family holding his hand, and playing music. We found it quite poetic that Bepaw left this earth on the same day that his dedicated wife, of almost 64 years, came into this world. He is leaving behind a legacy of music and love that will forever resonate in our family and beyond. His music was always in high demand, from his music friends to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His talent and love for music led him on a journey of many memories, touching the lives of countless individuals through his melodies and harmonies. Whether it was the gentle strumming of his guitar or the humming of a timeless tune, his music had the power to captivate those around him.  Although his physical presence may no longer be with us, the memory of him is forever etched in our hearts. In his honor, let us remember the melody of his life and carry it forward, embracing the beauty of music and cherishing the bonds of family and friendship. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Fran; and son, Thomas Davis. He is survived by his children, Angie McLain, Anola (Bill) Berkenpas, Mark (Wendy) Davis, Krisi (Gary) Richardson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Robert Davis; and sister-in-law, Dolly Wilson; and a special friend, Virginia Kowal. The family will greet visitors on Saturday, February 17, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we find solace when we hear the strumming of a guitar. Forever in our hearts, forever in our melodies.

I met Ellis at the manner he impacted my life so much. I came and visited with him and talked and sang and he played his guitar. My children got the honor to meet him as well. He was such an amazing man. We loved him dearly and are so saddened he is no longer with us. But he will forever live on in our hearts. All the story's he told all the smiles he brought to a room the love for music will never be forgotten. We talked about fishing and hunting often and we shared our storys. We read hunting and fishing magazines together. Listened to pasty cline and good old Johnny Cash. He always knew use to say " when I look into your eyes I know you really love and care about me sweetheart. " he was so right. I feel so blessed to have been a part of his life. Thank you Ellis I love you now enjoy some of your wife's homemade pies that you always talked about. Until I see you again. Forever in out hearts.
Love always & Forever,
Samantha

Bepaw, you will forever be in my heart. I will always cherish the time
I spent with you and Gemaw, traveling to different musical events. The memories
of you, and your music will forever be with me.

I Love you,

Jake
