Philip Eugene Laven, age 91, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday February 7, 2024 after enjoying a long, happy, and healthy life. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, faithful friend, and mentor to many. His faith and love of his family was evident in all he did.

 
Phil was preceeded in death by his Father, Melvin Eugene, Mother, Anna Gertrude, Beloved Bride, Anna Mae, Great-granddaughter, Addyson Jewel Steur, and Grandson, Aaron James VanderHeuvel. He graduated from Godwin Heights High School, Grand Rapids Community College, and Western Michigan University. His successful employment history included Keeler Brass, Slagboom, Alofs Manufacturing, and Trumark with the title of Director of Facilities and Financial Planning. He served on Wyoming Public Schools board of education for 9 years. He was a proud member of Hess Lake Association, and served on the Floridana board most recently as treasurer/secretary. He also enjoyed volunteering at Tanalian Bible Camp in Alaska.
 
Phil will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his brother, Donald Laven (Judy) and many neices and nephews. Phil and Ann had four children. Laura Beth Brown (Beryl). grandchildren: Corey Lee Brown, Logan, Aubrey, Connor, and Audra Jayne Brown. Timothy Paul (Linda). grandchildren: Bryan Paul (Kelly) grandchildren: Brady, Kaeden, Jodi Marie Laven, Braylon, Addyson Jewel, and Traeton. Jayne Ellen VanderHeuvel. grandchildren: Laura Elizabeth (Carlos). Madilynn Elizabeth, Nickolas Lee (Joy), Mason Lee, Graham Allen, and Bronson James. Ruth Laven Brower (Lance). grandchildren: Brennan Lance, Jenna Ruth, and Aubrye Christina.
 
Phil will be laid to rest alongside Anna Mae at Rosedale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to:
