Michael "Cory" Furbish, from Grand Rapids, MI, a man full of life and laughter, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the age of 71.  Cory had many jobs throughout the years, but his true passion was working with Alzheimer’s patients as a CNA.  He was a man of many talents.  He wrote poetry and had a love for music.  He played the clarinet in a symphony orchestra, could play the piano, and he sang in a gospel quartet.  Cory loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and if he wasn't with them, you could find him drinking coffee at the 76th street truck stop with friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; biological parents, Richard and Wyola; foster parents, Dale and Marjorie.  Cory will be lovingly remembered by his only child, Michael (Amanda); grandsons, Aaron, Christian (Jazmyn Bliss), and Brady; his only great-grandson, Michael Cory; sisters, Vicki (Stan) Lipzinski, Carol (Trace) DeKam, and Cindy Dunn; sisters-in-law, Sue Runion, Kathy Symanski; aunt, Bobbie Slaughter; many nieces and nephews.  Cremation will take place.  A Legacy of Life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 19, at the Knights of Columbus Event Center, 5830 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, MI 49509.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
