Ruth DeVries, age 83, of Caledonia, MI and Palmetto, FL left this earthly body and entered her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.  Ruth will be remembered by many for her love of attending and leading Bible studies, quilting and teaching others these skills, and developing business and accounting skills in others.  She served as Caledonia Township’s Treasurer from 1991 - 2000.  Preceding Ruth to their Heavenly Home is her faithful husband, Roger; parents, Lewis and Della DeLeeuw; in-laws, Herman and Marjorie DeVries; son-in-law, Dan Visser; sisters-in-law, Elaine DeVries, and Jean DeLeeuw.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robin and Tom Deur, Rick and Cheryle DeVries, Renee and Kurt Hill; grandchildren, Jennica and Matthew Larson, Kristin and Eric Prins, Anna and Michael Ball, Tim and Samantha Deur, R.J. Deur, and Bess Deur, Stephanie and Adam Fox, Kate and Jake Gillis, Ricky and Megan DeVries, Jessica Hill, Megan Hill; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bob and Cathy DeLeeuw, Ron DeLeeuw, Bud DeVries, Gord and Lynn DeVries, Kathy DeVries.  Friends and family are welcome to come meet her family to share memories on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan NE, Grand Rapids, 49503, from 9:30 – 11 AM.  A celebration of Ruth's life and in praise and worship to our Lord and Savior will be held following the visitation, on Friday, June 7, at 11 AM, at Third Reformed Church.  Rev. Jeffrey Petersen will officiate.  A private burial for immediate family has taken place at Holy Corners Cemetery on the corner of 84th St. and Kraft Ave. in Caledonia, MI.  Memorial contributions in honor of Ruth may be made to the children and youth programs at Third Reformed Church or a charity of your choice.
