 Gary Warner McCaul, age 84, of Caledonia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  Gary graduated from Caledonia High School and later served his country by joining the United States Army Reserves. He and his father owned McCaul’s Automotive in Grand Rapids and had many loyal customers. Gary enjoyed classic cars, antique tractors and the history of the Civil War/WWII. He loved living in Caledonia surrounded by beautiful farmland and wildlife. Gary’s greatest joy was his love for his family and grandchildren. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Jean; sons, Jeffrey (Renee) McCaul and Mark (Karin) McCaul; grandchildren, Elise, Lauren, Tyler, Cassie and Trent McCaul; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack (Inez) Potter and Kenneth (Jeanette) Meringa; nieces and nephews, Timothy (Andrea) Wood, Jacqueline (Jeff) Johnston, Barbara Potter, Bonnie (Kraig) Honderd, Robert (Amy) Meringa, and Kendra (Dan) Prescher. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bernadine McCaul; sister and brother-in-law, Mitzi and Ronald Wood; and nephewRoger Wood. The family will receive friends and relatives at Stroo Funeral Home from 5-8pm on Monday, August 26. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday at Leighton Church (4180 2nd St, Caledonia), Pastor Wayne Ondersma officiating. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of Interim Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. Interment will take place at Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Gary may be given to Leighton Church or Interim Hospice.
