Warren Jay Overton, age 80, went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 30, 2024.  Affectionately known as “Dad”, “PopPop”, and “Husband”, Warren lived a beautiful life.  He was born on Long Island to Walter and Adrianna Overton.  Warren was preceded in death by daughters, Sandra InSook, and Crystal Marie; and grandson, Johnny.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lillian Overton; children, Paul Overton, Amy Mills (Ronald), Sara Overton Thayer (Paul), James Overton, Anthony Mills; beloved grandchildren, Adrianna Overton, Sky Overton, Daniel Mills, Hunter Overton, Zoe Thayer, Gabby Thayer; many nieces and nephews.  He will also be remembered by special racing buddies, Curt Barnes, and Chuck Luttenton.  Warren was a hardworking man, dedicated to his family.  Everything he did was for them.  People gravitated towards Warren's magnetic force, and he loved and accepted them all.  He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive and funny.  He loved his Lord and Savior and shared that love with anyone.  Warren, as your family, we will miss you immensely.  You were our comfort when we needed clarity.  Because of you we have the heart of a lion, love of our family, and an insane work ethic.  We are all better people because of you.  We will forever keep you in our hearts.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, at 12 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, with a visitation prior to the service from 10 am to 12 pm.  Pastor Troy Hatfield will officiate.  Interment will be in Blain Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "The Lemonade Cart", a ministry of Jamestown Baptist Church at Lacks Cancer Center.  Please make checks payable to the church, with "The Lemonade Cart" written on the memo line, 2472 Quincy St., Hudsonville, MI 49426.
